Anchor House Ride for Runaways Information Session This Sunday

Glass_2Have you ever thought about participating in the Anchor House Ride for Runaways but wanted more information about the ride or the cause?

Stop by Anchor House this Sunday, tour the house, get answers to your questions, and meet veteran ride participants and support crew members.

Anchor House is hosting an information session about the ride at 11 a.m. Sunday at its flagship location at 482 Centre Street in Trenton.

The 36th annual ride will take place July 12 to 19, beginning in Lexington, Va. and ending at the Quakerbridge Mall. Applications for the week-long ride will be available on the Anchor House Ride for Runaways website starting Jan. 15.

The 500-mile ride raises money for Anchor House, the Trenton-based nonprofit that offers shelter and support services for runaway, abused and neglected children in the greater Mercer County area. In 2013 the ride raised a record $580,000.

Anchor House depends on the ride to cover about a third of its operating costs each year. Last year more than 200 people participated in the ride as cyclists and support crew members.
