The Princeton Police Department has released a sketch of the suspect who stole about $80 in tips from Efes Mediterranean Grill Sunday night. The sketch was created by a New Jersey State Police sketch artist based upon video surveillance and witness accounts of the robbery. (In the video, the suspect enters the restaurant at the five-minute mark).

If you recognize the suspect or have information about the robbery, call Det. Robert Allie of the Princeton Police Department at (609)921-2100, ext. 2123.

Employees at the restaurant reported to police Sunday night that a man entered the restaurant, took all the money in the tip jar, and then threatened employees who were chasing him, telling them he was carrying a gun. Police were dispatched to the restaurant on the 200 block of Nassau Street  just before 9 p.m. Restaurant employees described the suspect as a  white male, thin build, approx. 5’10” tall with dirty blonde hair, wearing a black leather jacket, a hooded sweatshirt and grey pants. He fled north on Chestnut Street with the tip jar. Employees stopped chasing him after he made the threat about the gun. No weapon was seen and no injuries were reported.

  1. Protip: if someone only _says_ “I have a gun,” they don’t. If they had a gun, you’d be seeing it.

  2. Can’t believe I sat thru 10 minutes of surveillance video and it didn’t show the crime.
