The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for Mercer County from 11 p.m. tonight until 1 p.m. tomorrow. The snow will begin late tonight and be heavy at times. The snow will mix with sleet overnight, then change to freezing rain Wednesday morning.

Central Jersey is expected to see between two and four inches of snow, plus about a quarter inch of ice.  Ice accumulation creates dangerous roadway conditions, causes power disruptions, and downed trees.

Officials ask that you monitor conditions and be prepared to alter your plans for Wednesday morning.

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie’s State of Emergency remains in effect. There are currently no driving restrictions. The state of emergency was issued in anticipation of weather events over several days, officials said.
