More Snow for Princeton Area Tuesday Before the Thaw

feb18A period of heavy snow, with temperatures at or below freezing, will occur in Tuesday morning between 5 a.m. and 9 a.m. Two two four inches of snow are expected for the Princeton area.

The snow is expected to begin between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m.Tuesday, and end around 1 p.m. The snow could mix with sleet at times along the Interstate 95 corridor. There is already ice on many roads, and police are cautioning motorists to use caution during the morning commute.

Roads and sidewalks will probably be icy during the Tuesday morning commute despite air temperatures rising into the mid-upper 30s because of the previously frozen ground.

Winds will be light during the morning, but increase during the afternoon.

Tuesday afternoon, temperatures  are expected to warm into the 40s. A refreeze is expected Tuesday night as temperatures drop into the 20s.

A warming trend will begin Wednesday with temperatures “soaring” into the 50s or possibly 60 by Friday.
