Two Graduate Students Robbed in Downtown Princeton Monday Night

princeton policeOn Monday between 9:15 p.m.and 9:20 p.m., two Princeton University graduate students were walking north on Maple Street when two black males, who were headed south on Maple Street, walked past them and then approached them from behind. Police said one of the victims was put in a “choke hold” from behind by one of the men and then demanded the victim’s money. One of the suspects removed an iPhone from this victim’s pocket. No other property was stolen. Neither victim suffered injuries.

Both suspects then fled and disappeared. One suspect ran north on Maple Street and the other suspect ran south on Maple Street. A search of the area by the Princeton Police Department did not locate the suspects. The suspects are described as a black male wearing a black shirt in his 20s, and a black male wearing a white shirt in his 20s. There is no further descriptions of the suspects. The investigation by the detective bureau is ongoing.

  1. The University Public Safety Announcement and the Daily Princetonian have one victim, two suspects; are they missing a victim or has PP inadvertently added one?
