P.F. Chang’s West Windsor Restaurant One of 33 Locations Hit by Data Breach

pfchangRepresentatives from restaurant chain P.F. Chang’s China Bistro said in a press release today that a company security breach first reported in June may have led to the theft of customer data from credit and debit cards used at 33 restaurants, including the West Windsor location on Route 1 south next to MarketFair.

An intruder may have stolen card numbers, names and expiration dates of customers’ credit and debit cards that were used over the course of almost four months, from Feb. 21 until June 11, at the West Windsor location. The chain has not determined that any specific card holders’ data was stolen.

In Monday’s statement the chain updated its progress in investigating a breach first reported in June. The statement said all card data has been processed securely at all locations since June 11.

On June 10, the United States Secret Service alerted P.F. Chang’s to the possible security compromise and the company began an investigation into the breach.

More information about the data breach can be found on the P.F. Chang’s website.  If you dined at any of the listed locations between the dates noted, you should review your financial records to determine if any fraudulent activity has occurred since that time. The P.F. Chang’s website also includes contact information for credit reporting bureaus and the Federal Trade Commission.

“Given the continuing nature of the investigation, other time frames, locations or findings may be identified. Therefore, we encourage you to check the site periodically for future updates,” reads the release. “We regret any inconvenience this security compromise may have caused our guests. To better assist our guests whose card data may potentially have been affected, P.F. Chang’s has established a confidential hotline to answer questions.”

The hotline number is 1 (877) 412-7152.
