Princeton Today: Ironman

ironman princeton

New Jersey’s first half-Ironman race is called the Princeton Ironman, but the 70.3-mile race does not pass through Princeton.

Mercer County Park in West Windsor will host the 1.2 swim and 13.1 mile run. The 56-mile bike portion of the race also will start and end there. The race, which will begin at 7 a.m. Sunday and end at about 4 p.m. with an awards ceremony, will close sections of roads in West Windsor, Hamilton and Upper Freehold.

About 2,500 athletes will compete in the race, which is a qualified for the 2015 Ironman 70.3 World Championship in Austria. Results will be available on the Ironman website.

Expect delays in the West Windsor and Hamilton area Sunday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. because of the race. A full list of road closures is available here.
