maynorThe Witherspoon Street Presbyterian Church and concerned citizens and community groups are working to raise money to rehabilitate the Princeton home where Paul Robeson was born. Sunday at 2 p.m., the Paul Robeson House and the Arts Council of Princeton will host a performance by singer Kevin Maynor at the Princeton High School Performing Arts Center. Maynor will be singing the Paul Robeson Repertoire, accompanied by Eric Olsen on piano. The event will also feature the Trenton Children’s Choir and The First Baptist Church Praise Dance. General admission tickets will be available at the door for $50.

Maynor has sung everywhere from Carnegie Hall to The Beijing Concert Hall in China. He has sung roles with the Lyric Opera of Chicago, New York City Opera, Santa Fe Opera, Opera Orchestra of New York, Cincinnati Opera, Teatro Municipal of Santiago, Edmonton Opera, L’Opera de Montreal, Florida Grand Opera, Pittsburgh Opera, Opera National du Rhin of France, Dallas Opera, Opera Company of Boston, The Spoleto Festival, Opera Pacific, The Saratov Opera in Russia and Scottish Opera, among others. He has also sung with the symphony orchestras of Atlanta, Forth Worth, Quebec, New Orleans, Milwaukee and the Buffalo and Long Island Philharmonic, The New World Symphony, and The American Symphony.

Live music performed by Cory Ross-Jenkinson. The Lion’s Club will sell raffle tickets and collect eyeglasses, sunglasses and readers. 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Rosedale Mills, 101 Route 31 North in Hopewell Township.

Princeton SHRRED Temberfest – Stop by the municipal building at 400 Witherspoon Street until 2 p.m. today and shred your documents.  You can also drop off your your electronics and computers, medical equipment and household goods, including clean clothing, for reuse or recycling. Bikes will also be collected for the Boys and Girls Club’s Bike Exchange. Rain barrels and compost bins will be available for $30.

Mercer County Household Chemical and Electronics Waste Disposal Day –   Stop by the John T. Dempster Fire School, 350 Lawrence Station Road, Lawrence, until 2 p.m. and get rid of electronics, aerosol cans, batteries, photographic chemicals, used motor oil and oil filters, lighter fluid, propane gas tanks, pesticides/herbicides, pool chemicals, paint thinner, stains and varnishes, anti-freeze, driveway sealer, gasoline, and insect repellents. Rain or shine. Must show proof of Mercer County residency.
