The Harlem Wizards will  show off their basketball tricks and play ball with a group of public school teachers in Princeton next month.

The Princeton Education Foundation is sponsoring the community event at Princeton High School at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 12.

The Harlem Wizards will play basketball against the Princeton Education Foundation All-Stars, a team that includes teachers from across the school district.

“We invited the Wizards to come to Princeton because we wanted to host a fun day out for everyone in the community,” said Jean-Anne Madden, president of the Princeton Education Foundation. “It was also a great opportunity to show off our local talent. We have some brawn to go with our brains here in Princeton. The Wizards are going to face some stiff competition.”

For more than 50 years, the Harlem Wizards have been entertaining audiences across the country with shows featuring tricks, coordinated ball handling, fancy passing and aerodynamic athleticism combined with high-energy comedy and audience interaction.

The Princeton Education Foundation was established in 1995 to serve as a bridge between the community and the public schools, encouraging private philanthropy to enhance public education for students at all levels. Since its inception, the Foundation has donated almost $2 million to the public schools in Princeton.

The event will be held in the high school gymnasium. Tickets purchased before Oct. 12 are $12 for adults $10 for children and seniors. Tickets are available online at www.harlemwizards.com/schedules. Tickets will also be available on game day at Princeton High School for $15.

Proceeds after covering expenses will go toward PEF Teacher Mini-Grants, which support innovative classroom programs. For premium seating options or general information, contact Shazia Manekia at PEFallstars@gmail.com or 609-806-4214.
