Friday, October 24

Biodrama and Documentary Theater– Students in this Princeton University class will present theater vignettes on the themes of love, death, secrets and frustration on everyday living stages”on campus and in the town of Princeton at 1:30 p.m. The course — taught by Argentine theater director Vivi Tellas, the Belknap Fellow of the Council of the Humanities for the Department of Spanish and Portuguese Languages and Cultures — is designed to have student explore theatricality outside professional theater. The performance will be in Spanish and English mixed. Attendees may go to any location. The performers will be in each location approximately 10-15 minutes, starting at the main entrance of Roberts Stadium. The route: Roberts Stadium, main entrance; Frist Campus Center Grill; The fountain in Scudder Plaza, beside Robertson Hall (Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs); the taxi stand on Nassau St., just outside Fitzgerald Gate; Princeton Barber Shop, 8 South Tulane St.; Kopp’s Cycle Shop, 38 Spring St.; Crosswalk from rear of Princeton Public Library toward Princeton Cemetery; Princeton Public Library.

Trinity Rummage Sale Preview Party – Get a sneak peek at all of the great deals at the Trinity Rummage Sale and snap items up before the crowds. Preview art, book, furniture, jewelry, ladies fashion boutique, linen, men’s fashions, and this ‘n that departments. Tickets available starting 3 p.m. at Trinity Church for $10 on a first come, first served basis. Preview 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Trinity Episcopal Church, 33 Mercer St., Princeton. General rummage sale with free admission is 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. The Rummage Program at Trinity raises funds for Outreach ministries serving Central NJ and supporting international aid efforts.

Howell Farm Corn Maze – Last weekend! Friday entry 5-8 p.m. and last exit 9 p.m., Saturday entry 12-8 p.m. and last exit 9 p.m., Sunday entry 12-4 p.m. and last exit 5 p.m. The corn maze is located just down the road from the historic farm site at 17 Valley Rd. in Lambertville.  Admission ages 10 an up is $10, ages 5 to 9 is $8, age 4 and under free.

Spooky Fun for Everyone at the Princeton YMCA – Free family fun event. Trunk or treat trick-or-treating in the Y parking lot, spooky trail, carnival games and bounce houses. Free!

Walking Dead’s Emily Kinney, Chris Barron of Spin Doctors and Dan Reed in Concert – Most people probably know her as Beth from The Walking Dead, TV’s highest rated show in history, but Emily Kinney is also a gifted singer songwriter.  She’ll be bringing that talent and joining two other singer songwriters to perform at Candlelight Concerts for Epilepsy Awareness. Seating is general admission.  Doors are at 7 p.m., lobby open at 6p.m. Trinity United Methodist Church, 1985 Pennington Road, Ewing. Tickets $25 at the door.

CAROUSEL Princeton HighCAROUSEL – Be inspired by the concert version of the Tony Award winning musical, CAROUSEL, which Time magazine named the best musical of the 20th century. Rodgers & Hammerstein’s timeless romance, set on the Maine coastline in 1873, is driven by one of the most powerful books of the musical theatre along with an extraordinary musical score. The Princeton High School UNICEF Club presents this production which features the PHS Musical Theatre Class & the PHS Orchestra at 7:30 p.m. in the Princeton High Performing Arts Center.  Tickets $5 for students & seniors, $10 for adults.  Proceeds will benefit the U. S. Fund for UNICEF.

Corner House Open Mic Night – Open mic night run by high school performers at Small World Coffee on Witherspoon Street in downtown Princeton. 7 to 10 p.m. Free.

Princeton and Harvard Glee Clubs Perform – The Tigers and Crimson continue their battle as the Princeton University Glee Club and the Harvard Glee Club come together for their annual Football Concert at 7:30p.m. at Richardson Auditorium in Alexander Hall. This spirited tradition is held annually on the eve of the football game between the two rivals. In the first half, Harvard will showcase a selection of works by Tallis, Chesnokov, and Burleigh. Princeton will follow with performances of works by Henry Purcell and Arvo Pärt, alongside jazzier selections by Giles Swayne and Wynton Marsalis. This 100-­‐year tradition will come to a head with the singing of traditional fight songs, with associated colors, cries and choreography. Admission $15, $5 for students.

Saturday, October 25

Isles Haunted Harvest 5K Race/Walk – All proceeds will benefit Isles. Walk or run in the Haunted Harvest 5k, which begins at 9 a.m. Monster Madness Mile Fun Run at 8:30am. Veterans Park in Hamilton. $30 on-site registration for 5K, $15 for fun run.

The Kingdom of Kongo: A Celebration of Art and Culture – A fun-filled day at the Princeton University Art Museum, including arts and crafts, stories, music and refreshments. All free! 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Princeton University Art Museum, Princeton University Campus.

frozenFrozen Movie Sing-A-Long – Back by popular demand, Mercer County Community College’s Kelsey Theatre presents the “Frozen” sing along that children of all ages love. 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.  Kelsey Theatre, Mercer County Community College, 1200 Old Trenton Road. Admission $18 for adults, $16 for seniors, and $14 students and children.

Princeton Football vs. Harvard – The Tigers face undefeated Harvard at Stadium. Kick off 1 p.m. at Princeton Stadium. Tickets $10 for adults, $6 for children. Go Tigers, beat Harvard!

Gallery Talk at the Arts Council of Princeton – Join artists from the Princeton Artist Alliance 25th Anniversary Exhibition as they talk about their work. 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., 102 Witherspoon Street, Princeton.

Mall-O-Ween – Halloween is here and all little ghouls, goblins and boo’tiful princesses are invited to come have a spooktacular time at the Kidgits Halloween event at the Quaker Bridge Mall. Crafts, trick-or-treating, and Halloween fun! 2 p.m., 150 Quaker Bridge Mall, Lawrence Township.

Rum & Onions – Princeton Country Dancers annual dance for all ages and levels. Workshop, costume parade, and more. Bring a dish to share at a potluck supper. Bob Pasquarello leads the Rum & Onions Band. $22 for full day; $17 for evening only. Soft-soled shoes are required. Festivities begin at 2:30 p.m.

Light the Night Walk – Help beat cancer. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night Walk funds patient support services, advocacy for lifesaving treatments and cancer research. Friends, families, and co-workers form fundraising teams who gather at this inspirational, memorable evening walk at Forrestal Village Princeton. The walk is a community celebration of music, entertainment where friends and family gather to celebrate their support in the fight against cancer. 5 p.m.

beetlejuiceFamily Film Night: “Beetlejuice” – A family-friendly evening at the Princeton Shopping Center Courtyard to kick off Halloween! Come in costume or dress up as your favorite “Beetlejuice” character, and make your night complete with hot chocolate and other treats from around the Center. Screening at 6:30p.m., rain or shine. Admission is free. Bring your own blanket or lawn chair. In the event of bad weather, the movie will be in the Arts Council of Princeton Pop-Up Studio.

Café Improv – Join the Arts Council of Princeton the fourth Saturday of every month for music, poetry, and comedy. 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. (stay the whole time or for just a few acts, your choice). Choral Evening Service at Nassau Presbyterian Church – Concert featuring works by Joann Sebasian Bach presented by the adult choir of the church. Free-will donation to benefit the Crisis Ministry of Mercer County. 7 p.m. 61 Nassau Street, Princeton.

Monsters Ball 2014: Bringing Dark Fairy Tales to Life – Artworks’ annual Monster’s Ball Halloween featuring all kinds of fun, entertainment, music, costume contest, and if you’re lucky, some prizes. One of the biggest draws for the Monster’s Ball is the Art of Darkness exhibit. If you attended Art All Night and saw the Dueling Muralists’ display, you caught this year’s theme: Dark Fairy Tales. The artists (which featured Will Kasso, Jim Lemyre, Mek, and Lank) faced their fears head-on with works dedicated to scary fairytales. Three of those completed pieces are currently on display at Artworks, and are a featured piece of this year’s Monster’s Ball. 8 p.m. until midnight. 19 Everett Alley, Trenton. $10 (includes 1 drink ticket) if you wear a costume. $45 includes unlimited drinks, ticket for one activity.

It’s The Great Pumpkin In The Park  – Visit the Washington Crossing Open Air Theater for arts and crafts, food, games, music and prizes. Trick or treating through the park. 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, 355 Washington Crossing-Pennington Road, Titusville. Admission $6.

McCarter Theater Presents “The Understudy” –  Pulitzer Prize-finalist Theresa Rebeck, creator and producer of the NBC hit Smash, pens a backstage battle royale for the ages. Things are looking grim at the understudy rehearsal for a hit new Broadway play – a “lost masterpiece” from one of the 20th century’s most enigmatic writers – Franz Kafka. The set technician is high, the cocky movie star doesn’t understand the script, and the new understudy is surprised to find that the stage manager is his jilted ex-fiancée. Backstage drama steps into the spotlight in this biting comedy about art, celebrity, and the crazy things we do for the business we love. 2 p.m., Matthews Theatre, 91 University Place, Princeton.
