Janet Ready, an executive and registered nurse with more than 30 years of experience in healthcare administration, has been named president of University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro and senior vice president of the hospital’s parent company, Princeton HealthCare System.

Ready began her new position on October 27. She will work with other members of the hospital’s senior management and the medical staff to promote clinical quality and patient satisfaction and develop new services, hospital officials said.

“We conducted a thorough national search, and Janet stood out as a leader who can guide our hospital in today’s dynamic healthcare environment,” said Princeton HealthCare System President and CEO Barry S. Rabner. “As a member of our senior management team, she will help us meet new challenges as we build on our tradition of exceptional patient care.”

Ready previously served as president of Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., as chief operating officer of Crystal Run Healthcare in Middletown, N.Y., and vice president for administration at the Hudson Valley Hospital Center in Peekskill, N.Y. She is a graduate of Columbia University in New York, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing and two master’s degrees.

The University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro is an affiliate of the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. The hospital moved from downtown Princeton to Plainsboro in 2012.
