Thirty-six years ago, photographer Jay Bryant was a college student at Doane College in Crete, Nebraska and he worked as a summer intern at the White House with President Carter. He spent the summer of 1978 photographing the President, First Lady, Vice President and other politicians and visitors.

All of the images he shot are now in Carter’s Presidential Library in Atlanta.

“I went onto to spend almost 20 years as a newspaper photographer and never had the chance to shoot President Carter again until he came to Princeton today,” Bryant said. “I was thrilled to have the President sign the print that has been in my office all of these years.”
