Planet Princeton Launches New and Improved Community Calendar

Calendar iconIf you go to the local events tab on the Planet Princeton navigation menu and click on upcoming events, you will see that Planet Princeton has a new calendar.

The calendar is easier to read than our old local events calendar, and includes maps and photos for events. It also is highlighted on the home page of the website.

These are all big improvements, but the best part about the new calendar is the interface for users to enter their own events. Previously readers could enter performances, local business events and other community happenings, but the feedback we heard from readers was that this was sometimes cumbersome with the old program. Then the company that made the program announced it was no longer going to be upgrading the program.

Fortunately another developer has created a robust calendar that is robust and easy to use. New features are added regularly. We are excited about the new calendar and hope our readers find it more useful and user-friendly. Send your feedback to Krystal@planetprinceton.com.

The implementation of the new calendar is the beginning of a redesign of the website. The calendar was made possible because of support from our readers during our crowdsourcing campaign.
