The board of directors for International Schools Services has selected Lawrenceville School Headmaster Elizabeth Duffy as its next president. She will assume her new position on July 1 of 2015.

During Duffy’s 12 years at Lawrenceville, the school has established an extensive international travel program, globalized the curriculum, and increased its international student population to 14 percent.

Duffy will succeed Roger G. Hove, who has served as the president of International Schools Services since 2009. International Schools Services has supplied international schools with a range of products and services for more than 55 years. Headquartered in West Windsor, International Schools Services offers staff recruitment, job placement, school supplies and other services to schools. The company currently works with more than 300 international schools.

“Liz will continue the tradition of excellence that is the hallmark of International Schools Services in the international school community,” said International Schools Services Board Chair Melinda Martinson. “She has the unique ability to take revered institutions and make them better. She is eager to start her presidency at International Schools Services, an organization she knows well from her service on the board from 2007 to 2013.”

Previously Duffy served as the executive director of the Ball Foundation. She has also served as a vice president at the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation, and as a financial and administrative officer and program and research associate at the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.

Duffy earned a bachelor’s degree in molecular biology from Princeton University, a master’s degree in administration and policy analysis from Stanford University, and a master’s degree in business administration from Stanford University.

She is a trustee of The Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation and has served on the executive committee of the National Association of Independent Schools. Duffy has spoken and written extensively about educational issues, and she is the co-author of two books, “Crafting a Class: College Admissions and Financial Aid, 1955-1994” and “The Charitable Nonprofits.”

“I’m excited to be leading International Schools Services during a period of enormous change and growth in the international schools sector,” Duffy said. “I’m grateful to my predecessor Roger Hove for his lasting contributions to the organization and the international school world.”
