Princeton resident Ted Deutsch has been named the president of the Arts Council of Princeton board of trustees. Previously he served as the board’s vice president.

Deutsch is the president of Taft and Partners, a strategic communications firm based in Lawrenceville. He has more than 20 years of experience in communications and public affairs. He previously led his own Princeton-based firm, Deutsch Communications Group, focused on non-profits and corporate social responsibility.

In addition to serving on the Arts Council board for the past five years, he is the vice chair of the board of VolunteerConnect and serves on the marketing advisory board of Boys and Girls Clubs in New Jersey. He earned an undergraduate degree in history from Princeton University, and his master’s degree in international affairs from Georgetown University. He and his wife, Jessica Deutsch, have lived in Princeton with their two children since 2005.

“It’s an honor to take a turn leading the board of the Arts Council, an organization which has been at the center of Princeton cultural life for more than 45 years,” Deutsch said. “The entire board is grateful to Cindi Venizelos for her enthusiastic leadership these past two and half years. We are fortunate to have both a deeply committed board and highly talented staff. Thanks to a strategic planning process that is nearly complete, the coming year will see a strengthening of the quality Arts Council programs available to the immediate neighborhood, the town of Princeton and the entire Mercer County region.”

The Arts Council of Princeton, founded in 1967, housed in the Paul Robeson Center for the Arts, designed by architect Michael Graves. The Arts Council offers exhibitions, performances, free community cultural events, and studio-based classes and workshops in a wide range of media.
