Princeton Today: Movie Night at the Museum

percy_jackson_poster13The Princeton University Museum will host a family movie night beginning at 5 p.m. The night will kick off with refreshments and a scavenger hunt through the museum’s galleries of ancient Greek and Roman art. At 6:30 p.m., the museum will screen “Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief,” the 2010 fantasy-adventure film starring Logan Lerman. The screening will take place in 101 McCormick Hall. The event is free and open to the public.

Westminster Conservatory at Nassau: Loeffler Trio – Faculty from Westminster Conservatory will present J. H. Graun’s Trio Sonata in F Major, Eric Houghton’s Cradle Song and Deborah Kilmer’s Dance Suite for Oboe, Viola and Piano. L’Elisir d’Amore – One of the world’s most beloved operas, Donizetti’s L’Elisir d’Amore (The Elixir of Love) is remembered for its over-the-top comedy and memorable characters, not to mention the many beautiful duets and “Una furtiva lagrima,” one of the most hauntingly beautiful of all tenor arias. Performers will include alumni from the CoOPERAtive Program. Come see and hear the singers you grew to admire during our summer program realize a full role. This semi-staged production will be performed with piano accompaniment, sung in Italian with English subtitles, and conducted and directed by members of the CoOPERAtive Program faculty and staff. 7:30 p.m. Bristol Chapel, Westminster Choir College
