Princeton Today: Light Snow This Afternoon

Light snow is expected to fall in the Central Jersey area beginning late this afternoon. The snow is expected to continue until the evening. Only about one to two inches of snow are expected to fall, but the snow is expected to start before the evening commute, and could cause slippery road conditions.

Witherspoon Street is closed between Birch Avenue and Franklin Avenue from 9:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. today, Thursday and Friday as the demolition of the former hospital continues.

All of the Princeton area roads that were closed due to flooding have been reopened. The Griggstown and Blackwells Mills causeways are now open.

The is hosted by Princeton Academy of the Sacred Heart and is open to the public. Screening of “The Visitor” – Walter Vale, a disillusioned college professor, discovers that a young couple has moved into his seldom-used apartment in New York. The couple, Tarek and Zainab, undocumented immigrants and victims of a real estate scam, are homeless, and Walter reluctantly agrees to let them stay in his apartment. To thank Walter, Tarek teaches him to play the African drum. As a result, Walter discovers jazz clubs and drum circles and his spirits are revitalized. Walter’s passion for life is further awakened when he attempts to help Tarek who has been arrested and threatened with deportation.
