Winter Weather Advisory for Mercer County Area Begins This Afternoon (March 3)

Louise Profit  headstand in more snowThe National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for the Mercer County area. The advisory is in effect from 3 p.m. this afternoon until 1 a.m. Wednesday, March 4th.

Snow and sleet are predicted to overspread the area during the afternoon hours. The snow and sleet will transition to freezing rain this evening before changing to rain for the overnight hours.

Snow, sleet and freezing rain are possible. Snow and sleet accumulations are expected to be less than one inch. Ice accumulations may be around a tenth of an inch. Untreated surfaces may become icy. Caution should be used while driving.

Temperatures are expected to be in the mid to upper 20s this afternoon, rising into the mid 30s tonight.
