Call for Participants for the 10th Annual Montgomery Earth Day Event

Earth Day Montgomery

Organizers of the 10th Annual Montgomery Earth Day are accepting applications from sponsors, businesses, educational groups, and food vendors for exhibit space at the fair to be held at Montgomery High School on April 19 from noon to 4 p.m.

“There’s no charge for admission or for exhibit space at the fair. This is Montgomery’s biggest community-wide environmental event, attracting as many as a thousand visitors of all ages.  It’s a fun day featuring entertainment by clowns, dancers and music groups too,” said Mary Reece, chairman of the Montgomery Township Environmental Commission and Sustainable Montgomery Committee.

Fair goers can pick up tips on living a greener, healthier lifestyle, enjoy food purchased from local restaurants, get giveaways from local sponsors and recycle some items.

“There will be opportunities to recycle metals, electronics, and possibly other items – watch for further announcements,” Reece said.  “Our goals are to focus on sustainable and eco-friendly products and to move toward a zero-waste event. “

Last year attendees recycled 2,820 pounds of metal and 9,786 pounds of electronics at the fair.

Earth Day is entirely run by the Township Environmental Commission, Sustainable Montgomery and its supporters, a team of volunteers.
