The Princeton Academy of the Sacred Heart has appointed Paris McLean as the new head of the lower school. McLean has been a teacher at Princeton Day School for a decade.

McClean, a recipient of the Minerva Grant and David C. Bogle faculty awards at Princeton Day School, is the second-grade lead teacher at the school. He is also the social studies curriculum coordinator for the lower school, and serves on the academic affairs committee. As the chair of the community and multicultural development team and as the lower school diversity coordinator, he leads a school-wide team that strives to enhance the school’s mission by harnessing the diversity in the community. He has also served as the head varsity basketball coach, earning Boys Basketball Prep Coach of the Year honors in 2008, 2011 and 2012.

“Paris is a thoughtful and dynamic educator who believes deeply in the mission of Princeton Academy, models the Sacred Heart Goals, and is passionate about developing boys into creative, compassionate and courageous young men,” Princeton Academy Headmaster Olen Kalkus said.

McLean is a graduate of Princeton Day School, and earned his bachelor’s degree in elementary education and special education from La Salle University. He will receive his master’s degree in private school leadership this spring as a Klingenstein Fellow at Columbia University Teachers College.
