taco truckThe second annual Princeton TruckFest, a joint fundraiser hosted by all eleven of Princeton’s Eating Clubs, raised $24,000 for Send hunger Packing and Meals on Wheels.

The event was held on Prospect Avenue on April 25th and included 11 food trucks this year.

Community Service Chairs from Princeton’s eating clubs worked on the planning for this event all year.

In its inaugural year, TruckFest donated $20,000 to Mercer Street Friend’s “Send Hunger Packing” program.

Since last year’s event was so successful, the group decided to split the donation this year between two organizations, TruckFest Co-Chairs Kate Gardner ’16 of Tower Club and Stephanie Goldberg ’15 of Cottage Club said.

The group selected causes that address local food justice and security.

Send Hunger Packing is a collaboration between the Mercer Street Friends Food Bank and the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen, and provides children from low-income families in the Mercer County area with nutritious meal packs for the weekends.

Meals on Wheels of Trenton/Ewing is a non-profit organization that provides nutritious meals and other services to homebound residents in efforts to promote their independence, dignity, health and wellbeing.

The food trucks who participated included Undrgrnd Donuts, the Feed Truck, the Taco Truck, BrazBQ, Tico’s Eatery and Juice Bar, Pure Vida, El Lechon de Negro, Nina’s Waffles and Ice Cream, Buttercream Cupcakes, Kona Ice, and the Bai beverage company.
