Hun School Boys’ Lacrosse Aims for No. 1 in Country at Inter-Ac Challenge Championship Final

Hun boys lacrosseThere won’t be any doubt about who the No. 1 boys lacrosse team in the country is after the Inter-Ac Challenge showdown tonight at 7 p.m. at the PPL Park in Chester, Pa. between the undefeated Hun School Raiders (18-0) and the undefeated Haverford School team (24-0).

Haverford is ranked No. 1 by Inside Lacrosse and Hun is ranked No. 4.  Hun, the second seed in the national tournament, made it to the final by beating Academy of New Church,  Pa. 13-4 and defeating No. 3 seed Episcopal Academy of Pa. by a score of 9-5 in the semifinals.

“These two teams are exceptionally talented and extremely well-coached,” Inter-Ac Challenge Director Brett Manney said. “We’ve seen big-time matchups before, but never a game this late in the season between two unbeatens that basically serves as the national championship game of high school lacrosse. We couldn’t be more excited to watch these two teams play.”

Hun is seeking its first national championship. Haverford is hoping to earn its second national championship in five years. The last time Haverford captured the title was in 2011.

A national lacrosse championship viewing party will be held at the Tap Room at the Nassau Inn tonight starting at 7 p.m. The game will be televised on Comcast Sports Network.
