New Jersey Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run tonight

special olympics torch runThe New Jersey Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run tonight will pass through the Princeton area beginning at 5:10 p.m. tonight, June 12.

The Princeton area leg of the run will begin at Route 27 and River Road and proceed along Nassau Street to Monument Hall. Traffic will be delayed at times during the run. The run is expected to finish at 5:45 p.m.

The run will pass through North Brunswick and South Brunswick along Route 27 beginning at about 4 p.m.

An estimated 3,000 law enforcement runners are expected to participate statewide tomorrow. The run travels through more than 300 towns and covers 750 miles.

The Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics New Jersey is a statewide campaign coordinated and managed by all divisions of law enforcement officers and officials from throughout the state. Through their efforts, events are conducted year round by the law enforcement community to raise funds for the Special Olympics movement, serving the athletes of New Jersey. In addition to fundraising, Law Enforcement volunteer at athlete events year round while serving as ambassadors in local communities.
