Princeton Woman Impales Toe on Garden Rake

princetonpolice_2A Randall Road resident impaled her small right toe on a garden rake this morning.

Princeton Police, the Princeton First Aid and Rescue Squad, and EMS Technical Rescue went to the resident’s home to help her.

The 55-year-old woman, who was conscious and alert, told emergency responders that she was gardening in her back yard when she accidentally stepped on the rake, which pierced her toe. EMS Rescue used a power tool to remove the tine from the rake. The resident was then transported to the University Medical Center at Plainsboro to have the tine surgically removed from her toe.
