Flood Watch Issued for Saturday and Sunday for Central NJ and Bucks County

Flood-WatchThe National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a flood water for Saturday, June 20, and Sunday, June 21, for several counties in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

In the Planet Princeton coverage area, Mercer, Hunterdon, Middlesex, Burlington, Monmouth, Somerset and Bucks counties will be affected. The watch will be active from 8 p.m. Saturday until 8 p.m. Sunday.

Heavy rainfall, tied to the remnant moisture from tropical storm bill, is expected to occur across the region Saturday night through most of Sunday.

Rainfall amounts between 2 to 3 inches, with locally higher amounts upwards of 4 inches, may cause flooding along area streams and creeks.

A flood watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts.

Monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
