Hopewell Police Arrest Two for Recent Burglaries

A 20-year-old Lawrence resident has been arrested for allegedly stealing a car in Hopewell Township, police said. On Monday, May 25th, at about 1:42 a.m., Hopewell Police Officer James Klesney responded to a Woosamonsa Road address for the report of a stolen car. An investigation revealed that someone had entered an unlocked rear door to the home sometime between 9:30 p.m. and
1:30 a.m. and had taken a wallet and the keys to a 2007 Acura from the kitchen table. On May 27th, the Cherry Hill Police Department recovered the Acura and arrested the driver, Cuthbert Anderson. After further investigation by Hopewell Township Police Detective Michael Sherman, Anderson was charged with the burglary and theft of the home. He was also charged with theft for the stolen car. Anderson remains lodged in the Camden County Jail on
unrelated charges. The case will be forwarded to the Mercer County
Prosecutor’s Office for review.

A 29-year-old Trenton resident was arrested for allegedly robbing a home on Harbourton Rocktown Road, Hopewell Township Police said. On Wednesday, June 10, at approximately 2:09 p.m., Hopewell Township Police Officer Christopher Vaccarino and other officers responded to a report of a burglary in progress. The homeowner had called 911 after returning home and finding a female, later identified as Latoya Colvin, in the driveway of the home. The homeowner noticed that one of their cars parked in the driveway had its trunk
and doors open. Further investigation found that Colvin had entered two unlocked cars in the driveway, used a sledge hammer to break a window of a detached garage on the property, and had removed several items from the garage and placed them in the
homeowner’s car. Colvin’s car was later found in the rear of the property wedged between two trees and stuck in mud. Colvin was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters for processing. She was charged with burglary, theft and
criminal mischief. She was later released after posting bail. Her case will be forwarded to the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
