Princeton Police Blotter: Police Seek Public’s Help Identifying Shoplifters

princeton shoplifter 3The Princeton Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying a woman who was captured by store surveillance cameras stealing a thermos valued at $20 from Smith’s Ace Hardware in the Princeton Shopping Center on the afternoon of June 19.  The woman is described as white, 70 years old, 5’6″, with short grey hair. She was wearing a dark blue shirt, grey shorts, and sandals, and was carrying a black bag. Anyone with information contact Det. The police department is also asking for the public’s help identifying a man and woman who were captured by store surveillance cameras stealing a coffee maker valued at $24.99 from the same store on the same day as the other theft. male shoplifeter aceThe woman is described as white, 30 – 40 years of age, 5’6″, with medium build, long dark hair, and tattoos on her right forearm. She was wearing a black shirt, grey pants, sandals, and sunglasses, and was carrying a grey handbag. The man is described as white, 25 – 35 years of age, 5’8″, with a slim build, short brown hair, and possibly a goatee. He was wearing a white shirt, red tie, and red pants. A Knoll Dr. resident reported on June 15 that sometime during the month of April, someone stole his New Jersey handicap placard, Apple iPod valued at $200, and $5 in coins from his vehicle while it was parked in Princeton. The victim only recently discovered the theft.

Subsequent to a motor vehicle stop on Washington Road in June 16, Trenton resident Jahmir Hazell, 20, was arrested on a Trenton Municipal Court warrant for $335 and for possessing marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Hazell was processed and released on his own recognizance with summonses.

Subsequent to a motor vehicle stop on Washington Road, Wayne Norflett, 45, of Tinton Falls was arrested on a Tinton Falls and Hamilton Township Municipal Court warrants totaling $1,442.  He was turned over to Tinton Falls Police.

A Benjamin Rush Lane resident reported that someone punctured and deflated her vehicle’s front tires overnight on June 16 or 17.  The cost of the damage is unknown.

A Redding Circle resident reported that sometime between June 9 and June 12, someone stole his UPS package containing a cell phone and tablet totaling $500 from his front porch.

Subsequent to a motor vehicle stop on Witherspoon Street just before 11 p.m. on June 14, Princeton resident Octaviano Chavez, 49, was arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated.  He was processed and later released with summonses.

A Linden Lane resident reported to police on June 14 that someone attempted to open a Victoria’s Secret credit card using her personal information.  The victim discovered the fraud after the company sent her a letter.

Subsequent to a motor vehicle stop on Mercer Street shortly after midnight on June 15, Skillman resident Maria Hernandez, 49, was arrested for driving while intoxicated.  She was processed and later released with summonses.

A woman reported that on June 9, someone shattered her vehicle’s left rear window while it was parked in the All Saints Church parking lot, 16 All Saints Rd.  The repair cost is unknown.

Subsequent to a motor vehicle stop on North Harrison Street at Clearview Avenue on June 9, Trenton resident Passion Davis, 23, was arrested on a Trenton Municipal Court warrant for $3,500. She was processed and released on her own recognizance.
