Princeton Public Library Seeks Authors for Local Author Day

The Princeton Public Library is accepting applications from local authors interested in participating in the library’s seventh annual Local Author Day fair from 1 to 4 p.m. on October 24.

The event is open to authors from Central New Jersey and Bucks County, Pa., with preference given to those who reside within 20 miles of Princeton Public Library.

Gain exposure while showcasing your work at the Princeton Public Library. While the day’s emphasis is on marketing and networking, authors are also given space to display, sign and sell their books during the author fair.

Space is available for 36 authors, with priority given to writers of adult fiction or non-fiction.

Four featured authors will be selected to read from their work for 7 to 8 minutes each. Ten additional authors will be chosen by lottery to read for 5 to 6 minutes.

Authors supply their own books and keep all proceeds from sales during the fair. Past participants must have a new or recently published book to participate again.

In addition to the Author Fair, Local Author Day features workshops for writers. The workshops are open to the public, and begin at 10 a.m. Details will be announced closer to the event date.

Authors who wish to apply for the Author Fair can apply online. Applications must be submitted by Sept. 1. Notification of acceptance will be made by Sept. 15.
