Brotherhood Ride to Pass Through Hopewell, Stop at Princeton Elks Lodge

brotherhood ride ElksThe 2015 Brotherhood Ride will pass through Hopewell Borough at about 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 12, and then stop at the Princeton Elks Lodge at about 4 p.m.

Anyone who wants to gather on Route 518 to cheer on the cyclists or greet them at the Elks Lodge is welcome. They cyclists will be staying overnight at the lodge, which is located at 354 Route 518 in Montgomery.

The ride is dedicated this year to 27 emergency responders from Pennsylvania to Massachusetts who died in the line of duty in 2014. Thirty-five riders and 18 support crew members will pedal through six states in their honor, biking more than 500 miles.

The ride began in Emmitsburg, Maryland this morning, Sept. 11 and ends in Boston on Sept. 16.

The Brotherhood Ride organization consists of firefighters, police officers, and emergency responders who bike to honor emergency
first responders who have died in the line of duty. Their mission is to
provide emotional and financial support to the families.  Over the past seven years, the group has honored the memory of 468 firefighters, law enforcement officers, and emergency medical personnel and raised more than $268,000 for their families.
