16th Carnegie Center 5K and One Mile Fun Run for The Parkinson Alliance – USATF Certified 5K, one mile fun run, and a family fun day – including awards, door prizes, moon bounces, face painting, refreshments, and a DJ. Mercer County Household Hazardous Waste and Electronic Waste Disposal Day – For Mercer County residents who would like to recycle common residential chemical wastes or used electronics. The event will take place from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the John T. Dempster Fire School at 350 Lawrence Station Road in Lawrence, rain or shine. While no registration is necessary, the event is open to Mercer County residents only. Free.

Howell Farm Corn Maze  –  New Jersey’s longest-running corn maze. Open weekends Sept. 12 through Nov. 1, Howell Living History Farm’s 17th annual corn maze challenges visitors to navigate 2½ miles of pathways that form an image of the  farm’s hen house and chickens. Noon to 8 p.m. Saturdays, noon to 4 p.m. Sundays. Howell Living History Farm, Valley Road, Lambertville. General admission is $10 for ages 10 and older, $8 for children ages 5-9 and free for children 4 and under.

Princeton University Family Fun Fest and Home Football Game – Activities for all ages. Family Fun-Fest from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., a sports clinic hosted by Princeton University student-athletes for children ages 5 to 12 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., and the Princeton University vs. Lehigh football game at 5 p.m., followed by a fireworks display at the conclusion of the game. Van Harlingen Barn Dance Birthday Bash – It’s a down home birthday bash and all are invited. There is no gift required, just a love of old-fashioned fun, local history or both. The Van Harlingen Historical Society of Montgomery is pleased to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their organization, founded in 1965, with an old-time barn dance. Princeton Symphony Orchestra Opens 35th Anniversary Season with Graceful Pairings Concert – Opening concert features acclaimed violinist Jennifer Koh performing composer Anna Clyne’s new work The Seamstress for Violin and Orchestra and Sergei Rachmaninoff’s romantic Second Symphony in E Minor, Op. 27. Bravura Philharmonic Orchestra Season Opening Concert “Classical Pops!” –  The Bravura Philharmonic Orchestra’s season opening concert “Classical Pops!” will feature some of the most famous works in all of music history.
