A winter storm is a possibility for the Mid-Atlantic region this weekend, Jan. 22-23, 2016. Snow, gusty winds and coastal flooding are all possible, although there is a great deal of uncertainty about the track of the storm at this point, according to the National Weather Service in Mt. Holly.

Snow is currently likely across all of the region late Friday through Saturday night. The highest impacts from this winter storm are expected to be north and west of Philadelphia. Areas from Philadelphia south and east have the potential to change to rain for a time on Saturday which may lower the impact.

While the National Weather Service is not making predictions yet about the amount of snow the region will receive, other weather services are predicting up to a foot of snow. National Weather Service experts believe it is too early to make such predictions.
