Winter Weather Advisory Until 10 p.m. Tonight, Feb. 15

ice storm Princeton Feb. 15, 2016A winter weather advisory is in effect for the Central New Jersey region until 10 p.m. on Monday night, Feb. 15.

Up to a 10th of ice accumulation is expected for the Princeton area tonight, according to the National Weather Service in Mt. Holly. Beware when driving or walking on pavement. Some areas will be icy, and some will not.

The snow is expected to stop by about 4 p.m., and then a mix of snow and sleet is expected. A total daytime snow and sleet accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible, according to the National Weather Service.

Snow, freezing rain, and sleet are expected before 8 p.m., then rain, freezing rain, and sleet between 8p.m. and 11 p.m., then rain after 11 p.m. New snow and sleet accumulation of up to half an inch is possible.

It looks like the snow and freezing rain won’t affect the Tuesday morning commute. The temperature is expected to rise to about 44 degrees by 5 a.m. on Tuesday.

Rain could be heavy on Tuesday and a half inch to three quarters of an inch of rain is possible. The temperature is expected to reach 54 degrees.
