Princeton High Makes U.S. News and World Report’s 2016 NJ Top 10 List

PHSU.S. News and World Report has ranked Princeton High School among the top 10 high schools in New Jersey for 2016. This is the third year in a row the school had made the top ten list.

Princeton High School is 10th among 422 high schools in the state and is ranked 192nd nationally, according to the report, which includes data on more than 19,000 public high schools in 50 states and the District of Columbia.

West Windsor-Plainsboro High North is No. 22 in New Jersey and Montgomery High is No. 23. West Windsor-Plainsboro High South ranks 27th.

Princeton High is one of only three schools on the New Jersey top 10 list that are open-enrollment schools. The remaining schools are technical or magnet schools with a selective admission policy.

Princeton High School is ranked number 56 nationally in the list of Best STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) high schools.

U.S. News and World Report’s methodology for determining the overall rankings is based on students’ reading and math results from the state standardized tests; the scores of minority and low-income students as compared with the average for similar students in the state; and the “college-readiness” index, which is based on the percentage of seniors in the 2013-14 academic year who took and passed Advanced Placement (AP) exams. The AP test participation rate at Princeton High is 73 percent.

    1. So less than one percent of the student body does something dumb at a place over which the school has no control and you impune this wonderful accomplishment of our high school? Really!

  1. But, but, this is impossible because it’s not a charter school. As everyone knows, charter schools are a priori and without question the bestest schools in the universe because they are, by definition, innovative and superior. Bravo to the students and staff at PHS for a great achievement. PHS is NOT a failure factory, Christie’s favorite term and of the pro charter school propagandists. PHS is a success factory.
