At 10 a.m. Tuesday, a man approached a home on Stuart Road East in Princeton and identified himself as an NJ American Water employee.  He showed the resident what appeared to be legitimate credentials and said he was at the home to look at the water meter. He also had literature that looked like it was from the water company.

A resident allowed him inside, he looked at the meter, and then left. The homeowner later called NJ American Water and learned no employees had been in the area. Police believe the man may have been planning a crime at the house.

The man is described as a white male, approximately 5’9″, with a stocky build. He was wearing glasses, a blue t-shirt, a blue hat and blue jeans.
