Woman Sexually Assaulted at Princeton University During Reunions (Updated)

At about 2 a.m. on Sunday, May 29, a woman who was attending reunions at Princeton University was was sexually assaulted by a male in Spelman Hall, law enforcement officials said.

Police said the incident was not a random act. The 22-year-old victim, who was attending reunions but is not a Princeton student or alumna, knew her attacker, who previously was described as a black male, approximately 5’8″ to 5’9″, weighing about 170 pounds, with facial hair and a mole on his face, who was wearing a t-shirt and shorts at the time of the attack.

No one has been charged with sexual assault in the case and the man’s name has not been released.

An alert about the assault was issued by the Princeton University Public Safety Department at 5:15 p.m. Sunday.

Spelman is located on the western edge of the main campus between University Place and Pyne Drive. The eight-building complex contains 58 apartments for students.
