Lawrence Man Killed in Hopewell Crash Tuesday Night

A Lawrence man was was killed last night after his motorcycle was struck by a sports utility vehicle on Route 546 in Hopewell.

Orest Huraleczko, 60,was heading west on Rt 546 on his Kawasaki motorcycle just after 6:30 p.m. when he collided with a Toyota Tundra that was heading south on Scotch Road.

The Hopewell Township Police Department, the Pennington Fire Company and the Pennington Rescue Squad were dispatched to the crash scene at the intersection of County Route 546 and Scotch Road. Huraleczko was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Toyota was driven Rufino Estuardo, 24, of Ewing. He had left the scene and was located by police about a mile away in a commercial building parking lot. He was not injured.

Police said the crash remains under investigation by the Hopewell Township Police Department and the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office. It is still unclear what caused the crash. Police are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or who has information to call Anyone that witnessed the crash is asked to call Hopewell Township Police Department at (609) 737-3100.

Route 546 was closed for about three hours Tuesday night.
