Capital Health Therapeutic Clown Team Welcomes Two New Graduates

Retired teacher Linda Kreshover (aka Dr. Hedda Class) of Langhorne, Pa. opens a graduation gift with some of her clown colleagues at Capital Health.

Capital Health Medical Center in Hopewell recently celebrated the graduation of two volunteers who have joined the hospital’s therapeutic clown program. The program is run through Bumper T. Caring Clowns, an organization that provides clowns for visits with patients and visitors.

Volunteer clowns are dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of hospitalized patients, their families, friends and caregivers. Clowns complete a comprehensive clown training course in the art of “gentle humor,” hospital representatives said.

The therapeutic clown program is one of several programs offered by the Capital Health Volunteer Services Department. Members of the community who are interested in volunteering at the hospital can email the department at volunteer@capitalhealth.org or call (609) 303-4023.
