Beat the Heat at Local Cooling Stations

The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat warning for the Central New Jersey area until Friday afternoon. Temperatures Wednesday through Friday are expected to hover in the mid 90s, with heat indexes reaching 100 degrees.

Municipalities across the region have set up cooling stations to help residents who don’t have air conditioning beat the heat.

In Princeton, residents can go to the municipal buildings at 400 Witherspoon Street and 1 Monument Drive from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, July 8.

In Montgomery, the Otto Kaufman Community Center will serve as a cooling center from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Friday, July 8. The center is located at 356 Skillman Road in Skillman.

All senior centers in Mercer County that are run by municipalities are serving as cooling centers. The following Mercer County library branches are also cooling sites: Ewing, Hickory Corner,
Hightstown, Hopewell, Lawrence, Robbinsville, Twin Rivers and West Windsor.
