A popular tea shop in downtown Princeton was flooded Saturday, and will be closed for at least a few weeks.

During the storm Saturday, the water was ankle deep in the Witherspoon Street and Spring Street area. It filled Hinds Plaza and even made its way into the Princeton Public Library.

Infini-T Cafe and Spice Souk on Hulfish Street is located below street level. The cafe was flooded on Saturday, and will be closed for three or four weeks, according to a post by the owner on Facebook.

“We are temporarily closed due to extensive flash flood damage from yesterday’s storm,” reads the post. “We appreciate the community’s support during this trying time, and ask that you continue to support infini-T Café and Spice Souk by shopping online at Tea Leaf Market while we are closed.”

The owners of Infini-T also set up a crowdfunding page with YouCaring to support a dozen cafe employees until the business opens again.

Other stores on Palmer Square fared well during the storm and some only suffered a few leaks, a representative from Palmer Square Management said. JaZams toy store had a water issue that they were able to get under control on Saturday. The store is fine and is open.
