Diana Leighton Named Vice President of Development Programs at Princeton Area Community Foundation

Princeton resident Diana Leighton has been hired as the new vice president of development programs at the Princeton Area Community Foundation.

In the newly created position that is part of the development and donor services team led by Elizabeth Wagner, Leighton will support the organization’s Fund for Women and Girls, oversee the annual fund and work closely with fundholders, said Jeffrey Vega, President and CEO of the Community Foundation.

Leighton was previously the associate director of capital giving in athletics fundraising at Princeton University, where she directed annual fundraising and alumni relations for the 37 varsity teams. She also coordinated endowment and facility fundraising for the athletics department. Over a five-year period at Princeton, she increased annual dollars raised by 84 percent and the number of donors by 140 percent.

She previously served as the development officer for reunions at Columbia University Law School and as the assistant director for the annual fund and director of lower school communications at the Dwight School in New York.

Leighton, who lives in Princeton with her husband and son, is a board member of the Princeton University NOW Day Nursery and is the secretary of Trinity College Class of 2005. She holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Trinity College.
