Harrison Street Traffic Signal Replacement Project Neighborhood Meeting to Be Held in November

The town of Princeton will host a neighborhood meeting at 7 p.m. on Nov. 21 in the main meeting room at town hall to discuss the Harrison Street traffic signal replacement project.

Traffic signals will be replace at the intersection of Franklin Avenue and Hamilton Avenue  All interested residents are invited to attend the public forum. Elected officials, representatives from consultant Parsons Brinckerhoff, representatives from the engineering department and the police department will answer questions at the forum.

Officials will discuss the following improvements:
● The installation of new traffic signals and pedestrian push buttons and heads. The pushbuttons will be equipped with an audible alert for pedestrians. The signals will incorporate equipment for emergency services personnel to control signals in the case of an emergency.

● The replacement of intersection curb ramps.

● The replacement of the sidewalk on the northern side of Franklin Avenue, heading east
from the intersection to the first driveway.

The project is funded through a federal Safe Routes to
School grant.
