Democrats Maintain Complete Control of Princeton Government

Liz LempertVoters in Princeton re-elected Democrat Liz Lempert to a second four-year term Tuesday in a quiet race where few issues were raised by the candidates.

Lempert defeated Republican candidate Peter Marks by a vote of 7,529 to 2,709. Clinton, by comparison, received 8,562 votes and Trump received 1,579 votes in Princeton.

The two Democratic candidates for council ran unopposed in the election, and each received 400-plus more votes than the Democratic mayoral candidate. Incumbent Jenny Crumiller received 7,975 votes, while newcomer and former school board president Tim Quinn received 8,027 votes.

Totals do not include mail-in and provisional ballots.  Not counting mail-in and provisional ballots, 10,842 of Princeton’s 20,216 registered voters voted in the election, according to the town clerk’s unofficial results. We will update the tallies when mail-in and provisional ballot counts are ready.
