Princeton Public Library, University Host Post-Election Community Gatherings

Princeton University organizations are providing spaces for community members to debrief and connect following the 2016 U.S. elections. The Women’s Center hosted meetings yesterday and this afternoon, and the LGBT Center will host a gathering Friday. The school’s office of religious life held a prayer event on Wednesday, and the Davis International Center will host a post-election session for international students and this afternoon.

A gathering for the Princeton community will be held tonight, Nov. 10, at the Princeton Public Library at 6:30 p.m. in the community room. Local leaders, non-profit leaders and community groups will join together to “recommit to values of  inclusion, diversity, and opportunity,” officials said.

“It is important for us to work together to reassure our community of our commitment to maintaining and building a unified Princeton,” reads a statement from town officials.

Officials said people who need resources such as support services or counseling should contact the Princeton Human Services Department at (609) 688-2055. The office is located at 1 Monument Drive in downtown Princeton.

  1. Did they hold these events in 2008 and 2012 for the minority Republican voter in Princeton? I’m sure many of these people were upset!
