Princeton Police Blotter: Burglaries on South Harrison Street

The Princeton Police Department has received two reports of separate burglaries on South Harrison Street. Residents are reminded to lock their doors and windows, set home alarms if they have alarms, and reports suspicious activity when they see it. Police have not yet released details about the times when the burglaries took place, what was stolen, or which blocks of South Harrison Street were affected.

On Dec. 28, a resident of Witherspoon Street reported that he received a call at his home from an individual claiming to be an employee of PSE&G. The caller told the man that his electricity would be shut off unless he made payments via Money Pack cards. The suspect called the victim back several times and was given the Money Pack numbers over the telephone by the victim. As a result the victim lost $1,378. The investigation is ongoing.

On Thursday, Dec. 29, two cars collided on Harrison Street in front of the Princeton Shopping Center. Police said the accident was minor and that details will be released in a subsequent police blotter. Both cars involved in the accident had to be towed because the air bags were deployed, police said. Injuries were minor, police said.

Just after 9 p.m. on Dec. 29, a resident of Juniper Row in Princeton was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. A car was stopped by police on South Tulane Street for being unregistered. An 18-year-old passenger in the vehicle was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. He was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters where he was processed, issued a summons, and released with a pending court date.

A vehicle was parked in the parking lot at the Woodfield Reservation just off of the Great Road at about 9 p.m. on Dec. 26. Police investigated and discovered the two people in the vehicle were in possession of marijuana under 50 grams and drug paraphernalia. Peter Knezevich, 21, of Trenton and Aiden Redmond, 20, of Princeton  were both placed under arrest and transported to headquarters where they were both processed and charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia and being in the park after closing. Both were released with a pending court date.

A Hamilton resident was driving along Witherspoon Street at about 10:30 p.m. on Dec. 28 when police conducted a random license plate inquiry that revealed that he had an active warrant out for his arrest issued by the Asbury Park Municipal
Court in the amount of $116. The 29-year-old was stopped on
Witherspoon St. and was placed under arrest. He was transported to police headquarters, where he was processed and later released after he posted bail.

A 22-year-old Cranbury resident was arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated just before 2 a.m. on Dec. 22. Subsequent to a motor vehicle crash investigation on Snowden Lane, Kartheek Tummala was placed under arrest. He was transported to police headquarters, where he was processed and later released with motor vehicle summonses including driving while intoxicated and reckless driving. He was released with a pending court date.

A 52-year-old Ewing resident was charged with driving while intoxicated on Christmas night. Subsequent to a report of an erratic driver on Mercer Street around 9 p.m., Linda Diehl
was stopped and later placed under arrest. She was issued several
motor vehicle summonses including driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, impeding the flow of traffic, and failure to exhibit documents. Diehl was released with the summonses and a pending court date.

On Dec. 18 at about 4 p.m., an unknown actor entered a retail
shop on the 100 block of Nassau Street and stole several clothing
items. Police said the investigation is ongoing.

Just before 3 a.m. on Dec. 19, a 33-year-old Leigh Avenue resident was pulled over on South Drive after police received a call about an erratic driver. Carlos Carrera Martinez was arrested for driving while intoxicated. Carrera Martinez was also found to have an
active warrant issued by the Princeton Municipal Court and bail was set at $185. Carrera Martinez was transported to police headquarters, where he was processed and later released after posting bail.

Between Dec. 9 and Dec. 18, someone stole a locked bicycle from a bicycle rack on South Stanworth Drive, police said
