A Few Inches of Snow Possible for Princeton Area Tonight

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a winter weather advisory that goes into effect at 8 p.m. Thursday night and ends at 6 a.m. Friday.

One to three inches of snow is expected for Princeton and the Central New Jersey area. More snow is expected along the Jersey Shore.

Snow is expected to develop across New Jersey, eastern Pennsylvania, northeastern Maryland, and Delaware after the evening commute. Light snow is expected to continue overnight and it should end before daybreak on Friday.

Overnight snow will be light but may still create slippery conditions on roads, sidewalks, bridges, overpasses and any untreated surfaces. There may be some slippery road conditions early Friday morning as snow tapers off to flurries before stopping. Temperatures will be below freezing overnight tonight, elevating risks of hypothermia for people and animals outdoors.

Police are reminding area residents to leave extra time for the morning commute and take it slow on the roads.

Check back for updates early Friday morning. We will post road conditions any closings as soon as they become available. Send tips or questions to editor@planetprinceton.com or message us on Twitter or Facebook.
