NJ Transit Trains Between Princeton Junction and Trenton Delayed Due to Fire

At about 1 p.m. Saturday, an Amtrak train was evacuated just south of the Princeton Junction station due to a small fire. Emergency responders saw a smoke column from a distance, but when they arrived the fire had already been put out by the train crew. Firefighters investigated the incident to make sure the fire was put out and had not spread.

Train service between Princeton Junction and Trenton was shut down for about 40 minutes. According to NJ Transit, passengers can expect delays of up to 45 minutes now that service has resumed.
