Skillman man held without bail in MCCC locker room child luring case

Adam Woolf

A Mercer County Superior Court judge today granted the state’s motion to detain a Skillman man charged with luring and lewdness offenses in locker rooms with children under  age 13 last week at Mercer County Community College.

Adam Woolf, 23, of Skillman (a section of Montgomery Township next to Princeton), is charged with five counts of second-degree luring, three counts of fourth-degree lewdness, and five counts of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child, law enforcement officials said.

According to documents filed in this case and statements made in court, at about 5 p.m. on Feb. 7, Woolf, a registered sex offender, was in the physical education building on Mercer County Community College’s West Windsor Campus, where he was representing himself to juvenile swimmers, all under the age of 13, as a maintenance employee and warning them that the chlorine levels in the pool would cause damage to their bathing suits. He directed three juvenile boys into an upstairs men’s locker room, followed them inside, undressed and then showered naked in front of them. He also encouraged the boys to shower naked. Two juvenile females also reported that Wolfe followed them into the women’s locker room and attempted similar activity. Woolf was approached and identified at the pool by campus security.

Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri credited officers of the West Windsor Police Department and the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Special Victims Unit with the investigation leading to the charges. He also thanked the Montgomery Township Police Department for its assistance with investigation. The case is being handled by Assistant Prosecutor Renee Robeson. The detention hearing was held before Mercer County Superior Court Judge Peter E. Warshaw.
