Mistral KOP opens in Pennsylvania

If you decide to shop at the King of Prussia Mall in Pennsylvania, you will find a taste of Princeton among the many restaurants there.

The long-awaited Mistral KOP has opened, the latest creation of prominent Princeton chef Scott Anderson and his partner Stephen Distler. The pair also own Elements in Princeton.

The original Mistral in Princeton has been heaped with praise since its opening in 2013 with chef de cuisine Ben Nerenhausen at the helm. Using mostly fresh, local ingredients, Mistral has offered a progressive menu of seasonally curated small plates.

The same theme is followed at the new Mistral, this time with chef Craig Polignano, formerly of the Ryland Inn, in charge.

The menu at the new Mistral is a combination of small and large plates with an international flair. Anderson is fond of Asian dishes and it shows on the menu with items such as Skewered Chicken “Yakitori” and tamarind-glazed wings. Other menu items include calamari, tuna tartare, grilled flatiron steak, lamb belly and olive oil-poached organic salmon.

The new restaurant is located at 160 N. Gulph Road in King of Prussia, Pa., which places it between Neiman Marcus and Lord & Taylor. It is open for lunch and dinner daily.
