Patchy freezing drizzle mixed with light snow could linger until tonight. Black ice will develop after 7 p.m. tonight as temperatures drop and wet or slushy surfaces freeze. Motorists should use caution on area roadways during the overnight hours. Stay home if you can.

Make sure you clear off all snow and ice from your car before driving. Clear your car off before slushy surfaces refreeze Tuesday night in order to make the job easier.

On Wednesday, scattered snow showers and localized snow squalls may lead to hazardous travel in the afternoon and early evening.

State, county and municipal plows continue to work on area roadways. In Princeton, the police department has lifted the Parking Ban as of 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 14th. If overnight parking permission is needed, call the police department at (609) 921-2100. Residents are responsible for clearing the sidewalks of ice and snow that are adjacent to their homes.

On Wednesday, March 15, NJ Transit rail service will operate on a President’s Day schedule. View the schedule here.

Bus will resume regular service south of Route 195 for Wednesday March 15. Bus service north of Route 195 may experience delays and detours due to local road conditions.

Access Link will resume regular service in Region 3 (Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland and South Ocean) effective 4 a.m. on Wednesday. All other Access Link regions will resume service at 10 a.m. on Wednesday. Please note: Access Link will not provide transfer or certification trips on Wednesday.

River Line Service will operate on regular weekday schedule.

Systemwide cross-honoring will be in effect on Wednesday.  NJ Transit will offer full systemwide cross-honoring, enabling customers to use their ticket or pass on an alternate travel mode including rail, light rail, bus and PATH.

In Princeton, garbage collection scheduled for Tuesday, March 14 has been rescheduled for Thursday, March 16. Organics will not be picked up this Wednesday, March 15. Pick up will resume next Wednesday, March 22.

The following senior centers operated by the Somerset County Office on Aging and Disability Services will be closed Wednesday, March 15: Hillsborough, Montgomery, Quail Brook, Warrenbrook and the Senior Wellness Centers in Bernards and Bridgewater. The Somerset County Transportation Division will make every effort to deliver Meals on Wheels to home-bound clients.

Princeton, West Windsor-Plainsboro and most other public schools in Mercer County will have a 90-minute delayed opening Wednesday. Lawrence Schools will have a two-hour delayed opening. Check with your district if you are unsure of the opening time.

Montgomery Schools will be closed Wednesday, March 15.

South Brunswick public schools will be closed Wednesday, March 15.

South Brunswick Municipal offices will have a delayed opening at 10:30 am. on Wednesday.

West Windsor municipal offices will open at 11 a.m. Garbage collection in West Windsor will be a day behind for the rest of the week.

St. Cecilia Catholic Church in South Brunswick has cancelled all masses and activities. The South Brunswick Senior Center will have a delayed opening 10:30 a.m.
