More than 100 people participated in the fourth annual Good Grief golf outing  Monday at TCP Jasna Polana. The event raised $125,770 to support Good Grief’s mission to help grieving families coping with loss through support programs, education, and advocacy.

At the dinner after a day of golf, Good Grief teen participant Clara Huergo addressed the group.

“Life is said to be one of the toughest teachers because it gives you the test first, and the lesson afterwards. I think losing a loved one is one of the hardest tests to learn from, and one we are never really prepared for, regardless of age,” she said. “The grieving process is a very personal one and differs for each of us. Good Grief encourages us to dig deep inside ourselves to find the answers to our individual challenges.”

Good Grief provides services to children and their families in New Jersey, and had served more than 1,000 children since its founding in 2004. Its mission is to provide unlimited free support to children, teens and families after the death of a parent or sibling. Good Grief serves children from more than 150 communities and operates programs in Morristown and Princeton.

“The Good Grief Golf Tournament has become both a fun and important annual event to support our children and families,” Good Gried CEO Joe Primo, said. “Thanks to the generosity of the many people who make it successful, we are able to make a significant difference in the ability to work towards a community where no child ever has to grieve alone. We couldn’t have done it without the support of our board, volunteers, and event sponsors.”

Sponsors included Celgene, the Private Advisors Group, Audi Princeton, Hamilton Jewelers, Investor’s Bank, JBK Associates, New Jersey Manufacturers Insurance, Princeton Anesthesia Services, Princeton Gastroenterology Associates, Princeton Radiation Oncology, RBC Wealth Management, Strawn Arnold & Associates, Inc., The Dahme Group, the University Medical Center of Princeton and numerous other businesses.
